A standard number is only the start
Record the full designation, edition, amendments and every project addition. Distinguish a product standard from installation rules, fire tests, material tests, management-system certificates and local approval requirements.
Build a requirement register
- Requirement source: tender clause, drawing, employer specification or regulation.
- Exact standard and edition, including amendments.
- Product family, voltage, construction and manufacturing site covered.
- Required type, sample, routine or special tests and witness conditions.
- Third-party approval, language, legalization or document-format needs.
- Evidence owner, due date and acceptance status.
Validate each document
- Check the named legal entity and issuing body.
- Match the certificate or report scope to the quoted product.
- Confirm standard, edition, report number and validity.
- Check whether the manufacturing site is within scope.
- Record gaps and request project-specific evidence.
Common errors
Do not treat an ISO management certificate as product compliance, reuse a test report for a different cable family, or infer Vietnam acceptance from an IEC or BS reference alone. Translation and tender requirements can add separate obligations.
Acceptance output
Attach a matrix that maps each requirement to a document, responsible entity and status. CablePeak publishes a compliance claim only after the relevant scope and permitted website use have been verified. Final compliance remains subject to formal project documents.
